Brief history of the LSGSA
The Learning Sciences Graduate Student Association (LSGSA) is an organization that includes all students affiliated with the Learning Sciences (majors, minors) at Indiana University-Bloomington. It works to build the Learning Sciences community and support the intellectual, social, and professional development of the graduate students in the Learning Sciences program at Indiana University, Bloomington.
The LSGSA was created in 2009 in an effort to improve the LS community at Indiana University-Bloomington. An advisory committee comprising advanced graduate students and GPSO representatives was formed to facilitate the election of executive committee members. Committee members were elected in October 2009 and a constitution was proposed, revised, and ultimately ratified by the LS student body. An opening social was held in December 2009 and official meetings commenced in January 2010.
