My research is in the evolution of behavior, particularly communication and social behavior. I have pursued this interest through empirical studies of lizard communication and social behavior, through the development of computer and statistical tools for analyzing interspecific data along a phylogeny (the phylogenetic comparative method), and through studying the social behavior of wild zebrafish.
