Indiana University Bloomington

The Department of Mathematics is one of the major research departments in the United States. Our 45 faculty, 6 Zorn postdoctoral fellows, 11 lecturers, and many visiting faculty offer a large variety of courses from calculus to current research seminars to our 130 graduate students and 140 undergraduate majors. The department hosts several conferences and distinguished lecture series each year.

The department resides in beautiful and recently renovated Rawles Hall. Historically, the IU math department has been a national center of mathematics. Past members of our faculty include E. Artin, J. Barwise, C. Foias, P. Halmos, E. Hopf, and M. Zorn. Departmental members edit the highly regarded Indiana University Mathematics Journal.
