Mathers Museum Store


Items featured in the Mathers Museum Store reflect the diversity of cultures found in the rest of the Museum. The Mathers Museum Store offers toys and games, books, masks, figurines, pottery and much more. Come to the Museum store to find out-of-the-ordinary gifts for friends and family, or to treat yourself to unique items with an international flair.

All proceeds from the Mathers Museum Store support a variety of museum activities, including school tours and the care of the museum's collections.


Wooden Skeletons from Guatemala
Hand carved and painted by Mayan Indian artisans, these skeletons have movable arms and are available in two sizes, small (6" to 8" high) and large (15" to 18" high).
Raku fired pottery from South Africa
Hand-pressed in a mold and then glazed by the artist, these colorful sculptures represent women from the Ndebele, Zulu and Xhosa tribes. The pieces are fired at high temperatures and then placed in sawdust while still hot, giving them a unique crackle finish.
Vietnamese Tea Set
This contemporary design tea set includes 4 cups and saucers and a matching teapot with trivet. In a stunning black matte glaze outside and two-tone crackle (burgundy and cream) glaze on the inside. Made by Craft Link in Vietnam.
Finger Puppet Theater from Peru
Put on a show with finger puppets! This theater, made from wood and fabric, has pegs to hold six puppets, red curtains can be tied back at show time. Assorted puppets, knit by women artisans in the highlands of Peru, are also available.
Beaded Bracelet from India
Bright glass beads dangle from this fun, colorful, elasticized bracelet. Made by Indian artisans for the Tara organization; a group leading the movement opposing the use of child labor in India.
Dragonfly Pin from Bulgaria
Funky and fun, this pin is handmade in Bulgaria by Lalo Orna. The Mathers Museum store carries earrings, necklaces and rings from this company -- creative plastic jewelry produced with a unique and artistic sensibility.
Beaded Earrings from Guatemala
A dynamic color combination and fluid shape make these beaded earrings an inexpensive addition to any outfit. Handmade in Guatemala by Mayan Indian artisans.
Finift Earrings from Russia
Elaborate metal work decorates these beautiful earrings of hand-painted enamel on porcelain. Made in Russia.
