  • Congratulations to Adam Zlotnick for being elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a distinction that recognizes outstanding contributions to the progress of science and research. AAAS is the largest scientific society worldwide and also the publisher of the journal Science. Adam is one of five that were elected at IU this year and is also the third elected AAAS fellow in our department. Please click HERE for the IU press release.
  • IU virologists Tuli Mukhopadhyay, John Patton, and Adam Zlotnick were interviewed on This Week in Virology episode 466: The Capsid Club.
  • Assistant Professor Jonathan Schlebach was awarded a Herb Tabor Award which is a young investigator award from JBC.
  • Congratulations to Erkin Kuru whos dissertation,"Fresh Approaches for Decorating Peptidoglycan Cell Walls Advance Fundamental Knowledge about Bacterial Growth" has been selected as a winner of the University Graduate School Distinguished Ph.D. Dissertation Award for 2017 in the Biological Sciences category.   • Congratulations to Craig Pikaard for his election to the National Academy of Sciences! This is one to the top honorary scientific societies world wide, and in addition, Craig was also recently reappointment as an HHMI investigator. Clearly these honors are a real testament to the high impact of the scientific research that his laboratory has accomplished. Craig ’ s election along with IU current NAS members also highlights the high quality of research that is performed on this campus.
