HOME --> CMVT --> MARY LU FARRELL A music teacher and chorus director in the Scotch Plains--Fanwood School District, New Jersey, Mary Lu Farrell has seen her students cast in five Broadway productions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, one Broadway production of THE WIZARD OF OZ, and the NJS Opera's production of TOSCA. Her students have also appeared on NBC's THE TODAY SHOW and the syndicated MORNING SHOW on WPLJ 95.5 FM. Her students are regularly selected to perform in the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Junior High/Middle School Honors Choir and Region II Chorus of Central New Jersey. Many of Ms. Farrell's students also study and perform at the award winning Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey. Ms. Farrell earned her BA and MA in Music Education while studying piano with Dr. Stelio Dubbiosi at Jersey City State College. She is also an experienced accompanist and studio session singer. Her performance credits include the NJS Opera orchestra's production of TURANDOT, rehearsal pianist for CHORAL AMERICA, accompanist for Region II Chorus, and keyboardist/lead singer for the rock band CITY LIMITS. She has also provided piano, string and vocal arrangements for CD releases and demos. Ms. Farrell resides in Scotch Plains with her husband, Frank. |
