Paul Elliott is most widely known for his work in the field of Early Music. Besides appearances with conductors such as Christopher Hogwood, John Eliot Gardiner and Roger Norrington, he was also a member of the Deller Consort, David Munrow's Early Music Consort of London and, with director Paul Hillier and countertenor David James, a founder member of the Hilliard Ensemble. He has sung with major orchestras including the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the English Chamber Orchestra, the London Mozart Players and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Since 1992 he has been a regular performer with Paul Hillier's Theatre of Voices. He is a featured artist on over one hundred recordings in repertory ranging in period and style from Perotin to Cage. Paul Elliott is a U.S. consultant for the Concours International de Chant Baroque held annually at the Chateau de Chimay in Belgium. He is Professor of Music on the Early Music Institute and Voice Faculties at Indiana University, a member of Early Music America and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and a former President of the McClosky Institute of Voice. |
