Join the faculty of an exciting and growing academic Department of Public Health at Indiana University, Indianapolis Campus. The Indianapolis Campus is the focal point of health professions education at Indiana University, and the School of Medicine is the country's second largest allopathic medical school. It is internationally recognized for excellence in research and teaching.
The Department of Public Health and CEPH accredited public health program is recruiting three highly motivated environmental health scientists to teach public health courses, advise students, conduct research and engage in professional service. The Department of Public Health offers three PhD programs; an MPH program with concentrations in Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy and Management, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Biostatistics; and a Master of Health Administration program. The Department also offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management degree and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree with a major in Environmental Health Science. The BSPH degree is one of 32 undergraduate programs nationwide that are accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council. It is the only accredited undergraduate environmental health program in Indiana.
The faculty rank for these positions is open and will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. At least one of the positions will be at the senior level and is well suited for experienced candidates who can provide leadership and vision for the program. Applicants should have a research track record and interests in one or more of the core fields of Environmental Health Science or a related discipline.
The successful candidates will have:
A doctorate in environmental health science or public health with an emphasis in environmental health or a doctorate in environmental science, earth science, industrial hygiene, toxicology, environmental engineering, or related field.
A developing or active program of funded research in environmental health science or related fields.
Teaching experience or strong interest in teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in areas such as environmental health, air pollution and control, water and wastewater treatment, food safety and sanitation, environmental toxicology, environmental risk assessment, environmental health policy, occupational health and safety, environmental instrumentation and related fields.
Clear evidence of academic scholarship in environmental health sciences or a closely related field.
