Resources for Michael F. Brown visit, March 4 & 5, 2009

On Wednesday, March 4th, Dr. Brown will give a talk entitled "Is Indigenous Heritage a Form of Property?: Lessons Learned after a Decade of Debate and Creative Policy-Making." His talk will be followed by a panel discussion involving IU faculty members from various departments who work on issues of cultural heritage. This event will be held in State Room East at the IMU beginning at 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

In preparation for this discussion, Dr. Brown has provided some resources and reading materials. Especially relevant is Chapter 8 of Dr. Brown's book Who Owns Native Culture entitled "Finding Justice in the Global Commons". Also provided is Chapter 3 of the same book entitled "Sign Wars".
