IU News Release: Martin Luther King's legacy being celebrated at IU campuses statewide

We hope that you will encourage student participation, consider hosting an event, or sponsor a movie night in honor of the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the annual MLK Day celebration. The committee is accepting MLK celebration events and movie nights submissions from IU units or student groups for the MLK Day calendar until November 8, 2013, by e-mail to mlkjr@indiana.edu. If you are interested in any of these or other ideas for the month, please contact Roberta Radovich at rradovic@indiana.edu. We welcome information about events and activities after the submission deadline, but your event/activity will appear on the electronic calendar only.

IU Bloomington undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit an original essay.

Unity Summit
This interactive diversity education program promotes civil dialogue and explores ways to improve the campus climate for all IU students.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday is "A Day On! Not A Day Off" in Bloomington, Indiana!

Revolution: Emergent Theater Project
Students work together to put on this unique theater production inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Interfaith Prayer Service
Members of various faith traditions gather for reflective prayers, music, and the spoken word.

Building Bridges Award
Nominate someone who embodies the spirit of Dr. King to receive the Building Bridges Award.

Civil Rights Immersion Trip
Students spend three days exploring historical sites and social movements as a way to better understand the past and the present.
