Instructional Media and Technologies for Learning (6th ed.) has been the most widely used basic textbook in its field since 1982. It was given "publication of the year" awards by Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and National Society for Performance and Instruction (NSPI).  The link connects with a description of the sixth edition, 1999.  The seventh edition was published in 2002 and the eighth edition in 2005.
