3+1 Case Competition 2014

The Kelley School of Business MSIS Association will be hosting our annual 3+1 Case Competition. Teams of three undergraduate students will have the opportunity to work with one randomly assigned MSIS graduate student to develop a solution to a common business problem. Team solutions will be judged by faculty and industry professionals. Members of winning teams (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) will walk away with their share of a $20,000 in MSIS scholarships and $650 cash prize pool. The competition will take place the week of February 17th.

Sign up deadline date is Sunday, February 16th.

Learn Case Analysis

No prior case experience is necessary to compete. The MSIS Program will be kicking off the case with a two hour case analysis workshop designed by Dr. Tony Gerth and an opportunity to meet your assigned graduate coach. Coaches will mentor teams throughout the competition.

Win Scholarships and Money

Prize Distribution for Top Teams per Individual Team Member

1st - $3,000 in MSIS Scholarship + $100 in Cash

2nd - $2,500 in MSIS Scholarship + $75 in Cash

3rd - $2,000 in MSIS Scholarship + $50 in Cash Prize

Timeframe

Sunday February 16th: Sign Up Deadline

Monday February 17th: Case Analysis Workshop and Kickoff

Wednesday February 19th: Case Q & A

Thursday February 20th: Case due at 10pm

Friday February 21st: Presentations and Final Round

*Disclaimer: Scholarships are nontransferrable. Scholarships are awarded under the condition that you are admitted to the MSIS program on your own merit. Scholarship applies only for the year of admission into the MSIS program.

On behalf of Allyce Mihelich (President, MSISA),Mithuna Siva (President, itSMF), and Emily Coffman(President, WIT), we would like to warmly invite you to the 2013 MSIS Mass Student Organization Call-Out on Tuesday April 2nd at 7:00pm in CG 1008.  This event will be attended by both incoming and current MSIS students – we look forward to seeing you there! 
 
To Qualify as an Potential Officer for the MSIS Student Organizations
·                  IU Students in Bloomington: You must be in attendance (or be sure to contact your prospective organization’s president) to qualify for a potential interview. 
·                  IU Students Abroad or Incoming International Students: A video of the presentation and Q&A session will be made available on YouTube within 24 hours of the end of the event.  You will receive a link in a separate e-mail and we will gladly hold Skype-based interviews! 
 
During the event, we will share insights into how you may get involved and explain the application process.

Want to get back in shape after the core? Come try the Insanity workout at Kelley! MSISA is hosting a workout on Wednesday, January 23 from 5-5:45pm in CG 1014. No equipment is needed. Just bring yourself dressed in workout attire! What is Insanity? Check it out here.

 

Interested in playing Badminton with your follow MSIS students? MSISA is teaming up with the Badminton Club to bring you a Badminton Tourney on Sunday, January 27th! Sign up at this link to play.
