Mr. Pratt Conducting Masterclass

Mr. Pratt to Give First Conducting Masterclass For This Fall!

The executive board is rather delighted to introduce the first conducting masterclass with Mr. Stephen W. Pratt for this year.  We will be giving six student conductors the chance to be able to conduct for fifteen minutes in front of a small ensemble for “real world” experience!  Student conductors will be given the rare opportunity to receive feedback from Indiana University’s very own Director of Bands, Mr. Pratt.

We will also be asking students to participate in the ensemble for the conductors.  This is a fantastic opportunity to soak up the great wisdom and knowledge from Mr. Pratt’s feedback without the pressure of conducting, and to learn something if you are unable to participate as a conductor yet.  This a marvelous experience for all and a great way to earn I201 Credit! There will also be delicious pizza and refreshments after the masterclass!

Andrew Smit, junior music education major, and Dr. Gershman listen closely to the ensemble's sound.
