Goal 1
Conduct field-based research focused on identifying solutions for enhancing access for people with disabilities.
- Develop protocol and begin pilot testing for longitudinal
research study on accessibility of playground surfaces.
- Develop protocol for longitudinal research study on accessible
trail surfaces.
- Partner with the National Alliance for Accessible Golf to conduct research on policy issues, features and usability of single rider golf cars.
Goal 2
Conduct training and education programs increasing awareness and knowledge of accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities.

- Begin implementation of a series of web-based training programs
Goal 3
Provide technical assistance and consultation on current trends and
successful methodologies for optimizing accessibility and including
people with disabilities.
- Continue development of monograph series and best practices, "Making the Grade".
- Provide resources and technical assistance matericals through
www.ncaonline.org.
- Conduct second phase of accessibility assessment for Yosemite
National Park
Goal 4
Provide outreach to land management agencies, professional organizations and other groups.
- Participate in NPS and DOI Accessibility Committes.
- Conduct sessions and exhibit at the National Association of
Interpreters Conference, National Institute on Recreation and
Inclusion, National Recreation and Park Association Conference,
and the NPS-DOI Facilities and Asset Management Conference.
Goal 5
Expand NCA funding base for the continued development
and expansion of services through collaborative partnerships.
- Conduct 5-year strategic planning and develop balanced scorecard.
- Carry out goals and objectives of collaborative partnership
with the University of Illinois at Chicago for the National
Center for Physical Activity and Disability.
Goal 6
Support the vision and mission of Indiana University through
teaching and technical assistance
- Present guest lectures for university classes.
- Collaborate with the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, the Department
of Recreation and Park Administration, and other university institutes, units and centers.
