Zip Line
Description: A person sits on a high platform and is attached by their harness to a
cable line that decreases in height at the end. When the person leaves the platform
they take an exciting ride as the wheel pulley rolls down the cable.
Inclusive Options (Rohnke‚ Wall‚ Tait‚ and Rogers‚ 2003):
- By using a mechanical advantage system that can be attached to the zip pulley or
a loop in the tether‚ a person can be raised up to unclip from their harness. They
can then be lowered to the ground.
