Community Profiles

For selected communities across the state we profile the local nonprofit sector. We also seek to examine how the scope, structure and linkages of the community’s nonprofit sector relate to community social, political, economic, and cultural characteristics. For this phase of the project the following metropolitan regions and non-metropolitan counties were chosen:

Bloomington Metropolitan Statistical Area:
Monroe County
Note: Analysis for Bloomington metropolitan area is not directly comparable to those for the remaining communities. The nonprofit data source listings for Bloomington do not incorporate local listings.

Evansville Metropolitan Statistical Area:
Posey, Vanderburgh, Warrick and Gibson Counties

Fort Wayne Metropolitan Statistical Area:
Allen, Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, Wells and Whitley Counties

Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area:
Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan and Shelby Counties

Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area:
Delaware County

Northwest Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area:
Lake, Porter, and La Porte Counties

South Bend Metropolitan Statistical Area:
St. Joseph County

Non-Metro Counties:
Bartholomew, Miami, Cass, Scott and Dubois Counties.
