Tournament Information

Competition Notes (updated April 12, 2006)

Bottle Rocket (B)

1) Teams should bring a box or item to protect and store their bottle rocket in after impounding it, since impound we will be set up in a tent. Be sure to label your box with team number and school name on all sides.

2) Teams will SIGN-UP for a specific time within their designated time slot. (Example: If you are team B14, you will sign-up for a time between 10:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m) Teams MUST sign-up between 3:00-4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at the Hoosier Jubilee in the Mellencamp Pavilion.

Chemistry Lab (C)

The gold medal winners of Chemistry Lab will receive a TI-84 Plus SE calculator (135.00 ea). The winning school will receive a TI Data Collection package the following:

Experimental Design

Experimental DesignTeams will need to bring a metric measuring tape - recommended to be at least 3.5m (12ft) in length.

    Mission Transfer Lists must be submitted no later than Monday,
    May 15, by 9:00 PM in YOUR time zone. For complete instructions please go to www.indiana.edu/~nso/tournament/mission.pdf.

    Storm the Castle (B Division)

    1) Event Supervisor strongly suggests that at least one of the two member team impounds the device. He will be giving out specific instructions to those competing. If you have someone else impound, make absolutely sure that those instructions are given to one of your two competitors. You do not want your students disqualified because they did not follow instructions.

    2) Copies of the graphs for the device must be put in an envelope, labeled with team number & name, and attached to the device at impound.
    The reason: Event Supervisor would like to have an opportunity to examine the graphs before the teams launch.

    Wheeled Vehicle

    Wheeled Vehicle will run as a true walk-in event. No one will be asked to sign-up for a time.

    Wright Stuff

    The Mellencamp Pavilion is 90,000 square feet. It is an indoor practice facility for football. There will be enough space to allow trim flights for Wright Stuff all day. Ceiling height is 72 feet - above that are rafters. The air ventilation system will be shut off.
