The NWAV 41 committee is delighted to announce the results of the Best Student Paper and Best Student Poster awards. Many participants have taken the time to vote for both of these awards and we greatly appreciate it.
The Best Student Paper Award, which has been made possible by the generosity of Cambridge University Press, goes to Kelly Farmer, from Indiana University, for her paper entitled “De quoi tu parles?”: A diachronic study of interrogative variation in French films.
The Best Student Poster Award, which has been made possible by the generosity of the Penn NWAV Committee, goes to Luiza Newlin-Lukowicz, from New York University, for her poster entitled TH-stopping in New York City: substrate effect turned ethnic marker?.
We congratulate Kelly and Luiza for their excellent research and thank them for choosing to share it at the NWAV 41 conference.
