• Former Indiana First Lady Judy O’Bannon
and New Albany community leader and banker Jerrol Miles
will receive the 2005 IU Southeast Chancellor’s Medallions at the
12th annual Chancellor’s Medallion Dinner Saturday, Feb. 26, at
Huber Plantation Hall in Starlight. Proceeds from the dinner go
toward scholarships for IU Southeast students. Local news anchor
Barry Bernson of WDRB Fox-41 will be the master of ceremonies.

Currently, O’Bannon is chairing the 25-member Indiana 2016 Task Force to establish
the state’s bicentennial as a time for communities to achieve
long-term goals. She also hosts the WFYI-produced TV series, Communities
Building Community, through which O’Bannon focuses on other Hoosiers
who are working to enhance their communities.

Miles, an IU alumnus, joined Kentucky’s largest bank, National
City Bank, then known as First National Bank of Louisville, following
graduation in 1970. He spent 33 years there, retiring as senior
vice president and manager of special credits department in 2003.
He has been actively involved in volunteer service to both the
New Albany and IU communities.
• Jonathan Crutchfield,
assistant conductor of the Louisville Children’s Chorus and minister
of music and worship at Highland Baptist Church in Louisville,
joined the faculty as director of the concert choir in the fall.
He formerly directed the program at the Chattanooga, Tenn., School
of Fine Arts, which he co-founded.
