New courses offered for medical records employees

An anatomy and physiology course is one of the new offerings at the IU South Bend campus. Designed primarily for those who are medical coders, billers and transcriptionists, the course provides a comprehensive orientation to gross anatomy and physiology. Another new course deals with medical terminology. Unlike the typical terminology class, this program will utilize a fun and relaxed learning environment, proven to be effective. There is also a new course that will prepare experienced medical coding specialists for their certification examination. The class improves upon skills and knowledge already gained by the enrollees. It covers medical record documentation and coding, including diagnosis and procedure. A fourth new course covers advanced compliance and specialty auditing.
