Ancient Athenians behaving badly

There’s no telling where research can lead. Take for instance what Matthew R. Christ of the Department of Classical Studies at IU Bloomington is up to these days. According to Christ, who specializes in ancient Athenian rhetoric, law and Athenian democracy, he’s at work on a new book exploring what he calls “bad citizenship in Athens.” The title is Cowards, Traitors, and Cheats: the Other Athenians. An earlier book, The Litigious Athenian, was published by Johns Hopkins in 1998.
