How do you examine a baby’s eyes?

Did you know that the best time for an optometrist to examine the eyes of an infant is just after the baby’s nap and feeding time? Practitioners of eye care all over the world can learn a lot about how to determine the quality of sight of an infant by investigating a course presented on the Web by the IU School of Optometry. Optometrists can earn two hours of credit for the course, which was produced with support of the IU School of Continuing Studies Alliance for Continuing Professional Education. Other interesting tips for optometrists: bright lights and musical targets will attract the infant’s attention, and parents can be recruited to help with the exam.
