| Tickets to the general public are available today (Jan. 18) for a performance planned by WFIU and the IU School of Music in Bloomington, in conjunction with Public Radio International, for a live recording of a weekly segment of From the Top next month.
The special program will take place Sunday, Feb. 17, at
4 p.m. at the School of Music’s Auer Concert Hall.
The program will feature some of the brightest pre-collegiate musical talents from the WFIU listening area and nationally, and is hosted by concert pianist Christopher O’Riley. The program will also include an appearance by IU cellist Janos Starker.
From the Top is a radio program that features the very best of America’s young classical music talent. Each week, several talented youngsters, ages 9 through 18, perform before a live audience. The program is taped and later heard on more than 250 public radio stations nationally. Due to the limited seating capacity in Auer Hall, WFIU offered tickets to members first.
Ticket prices are $35 for adults and $25 for students, and can be purchased from WFIU. The price of the ticket includes a post-show reception with the program’s host and production crew, student participants, guests and WFIU staff.
From the Top can be heard on WFIU every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
