IU South Bend Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7 The second Midwest Black Man’s Think Tank will discuss the history of the underground railroad, male leadership and black youth criminalization. Blaine Hudson, chair of the University of Louisville’s Department of Pan-African Studies and author of The Fugitive Slaves and the Underground Railroad in the Kentucky Borderland, and Useni Eugene Perkins of the Association for the Development of Black Youth, Chicago, are among speakers. IU Northwest Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7 Tribute to African-American Workers The Division of Labor Studies will sponsor a “Celebrate the Gifts, Give Your Hands to Struggle” institute highlighting contributions of African-American workers to democracy and social justice. Public speakers will include Bill Fletcher, director of Trans Africa, and Elise Bryant, nationally known African-American culture worker from the George Meany Center, Washington, D.C. Monday, Feb. 9 African-American Dolls Library Conference Center, room 105 More than 300 black dolls have been on display this week at Gallery Northwest from the collection of Montgomery, Ala., civil rights activist Jamila Jones. Jones will lecture on her collection at 11 a.m. and the dolls will have been moved to the Library Conference Center to be viewed.
