Author Isak Dinesen once described her life as a coral reef made up of “accidental accumulation.” In the life of a growing institution, history is only rarely accidental, and the preservation of historical documentation requires technical expertise in electronic record-keeping. Pictured (at left) is IUB folklore grad student Thomas Bongiorno as he catalogs prints in his Bryan Hall cubby space.

The unit is open and available for use by IU faculty, staff, students, alumni and the general public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m. Because classes sometimes utilize the facility, individuals wishing to visit are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by telephone (812-855-1127) or by E-mail (archives@indiana.edu)/
