Benton Medallion awarded to IUB campaign

While the medallion has previously been awarded only to individuals, its intent has been to recognize significant contributions to IU programs, students and faculty.

The Endowment Campaign for IU Bloomington is the largest fund-raising campaign ever completed at IU, raising IU from the bottom half to first place among Big Ten universities in the number of endowed faculty positions university-wide.

The campaign was launched in July 1994 and concluded in December 2000, exceeding its goal of $350 million by 44 percent.
