Teaching Zulu globally online

An exciting initiative in Indiana University Bloomington’s teaching of African languages is the development of an interactive global classroom in partnership with the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. A Ford Foundation grant funded the project. Zulu language classes at each university speak to each other directly in real time using interactive compressed video. The project encourages teachers to develop new methods and help students to learn more about culture while speaking Zulu with native speakers. Click on New Technologies at:
