IU’s Community Outreach and Partnerships in Service Learning, headquartered on the IU Bloomington campus and directed by JoAnn Campbell (far left), has some ACEs up its sleeve. That is, Advocates for Community Engagement (ACEs), who are IUB undergrads serving as liaisons between campus service-learning courses and designated community partners. ACEs also participate in leadership development activities on topics such as diversity, community asset mapping and civility. This spring semester’s ACEs are (left to right) Laura Sorkin, Beth Hannon, Ann Roth and Rachel Karess. At far right is COPSL program coordinator Julie Reed, an IU graduate student.
