Nuclear weapon proliferation to be explored March 1-2

Sir Timothy Garden

Nuclear weapons proliferation among countries of the Indian Ocean region is the topic of a free conference March 1-2 at IU Bloomington.

Sir Timothy Garden of King’s College, University of London, will be the keynote speaker.

The region is playing an increasingly important role in international affairs ranging from natural resource exports from the Middle East to the demographic explosion underway in South Asia. Nuclear weapons programs in India, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Israel and South Africa may serve to destabilize security in the region with major foreign policy implications for the United States, Britain and Australia.
