Spring traditionally finds scholars of note making campus visits. March will arrive like a lion at IUB, with WTC memorial site architect Daniel Libeskind; medical sociologist Bronwen Lichtenstein; SETI research director Jill Tarter, bioethicist LeRoy Walters; and Stanford mathematician Persi Diaconis making public presentations.
 
Dennis Reardon’s 13th play will premiere tonight. And the head of IUB’s graduate playwriting program, a baby boomer, had to look back at some painful historical notes from his youth as the play began to take shape. "It forced me to reconnect emphatically with things like the Kennedy assassination, which, in fact, was my generation's 9/11," he said.
 
A symposium March 9 at IUPUI will focus on the Hoosier I-Light Optical Fiber Infrastructure, soon to be upgraded with the addition of I-Light2, linking more educational institutions to one another and to the Internet2 research and education network. In other computer news, the university-wide Student Information System will implement another phase March 1.
