Donna Holland, assistant professor of sociology at IPFW, is accepting submissions for a poetry contest; winners will have their poems presented at a community fair at IPFW on April 11. Deadline for submission is Monday, March 14.
Holland’s senior-level class, “Family Violence,” is organizing the fair to make the public aware of help available for families and individuals experiencing abuse.
Prizes will be awarded to the contest winners, and selected poems will be included on a specially designed calendar that will be handed out at the fair.
Contest rules:
• Who can enter: Anyone who has been a victim of abuse or who knows someone who is/was an abuse victim may enter.
• Send submissions to: Donna Holland, IPFW Department of Sociology, CM-231, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne, Ind. 46805. Include name, address, phone number, E-mail address and age.
All submissions will become the property of IPFW and will not be returned to the writer.
