• The annual welcome reception for all women faculty and staff on the IU Bloomington campus is scheduled Friday, Sept. 13, from 4-6 p.m., at the President’s Room of the University Club, Indiana Memorial Union. The event is sponsored by the Office for Women’s Affairs and the University Women’s Faculty and Staff Club.

• “The Stories Sport Tells” opened this month at the National Art Museum of Sport, located at University Place Conference Center and Hotel, IUPUI. Approximately 200 art pieces will be on exhibit through December, including bronze sculptures of Indian and contemporary players, and engravings of Indian and 19th-century games that tell the story of lacrosse. The collection is open during regular business hours. Weekend and group tours may be arranged by calling 317-274 3627
