IU secures network with Symantec anti-virus protection

Indiana University has once again chosen Symantec products as key components in its effort to maintain the security of its computer network. As part of the multi-year agreement, IU will run Symantec anti-virus solutions on the desktops used by students, as well as the PCs used by over 30,000 faculty and staff members. At the same time, IU will utilize Symantec Ghost to streamline the configuration of networked workstations and reduce information technology costs.

The anti-virus solutions will automatically protect desktops and servers from malicious code, including viruses, worms, Trojan Horses and script-based threats. Symantec Ghost significantly eases user migration, application deployment and backup and recovery.
