| • IU has three faculty members who belong to the National Academy for Public Administration, a congressionally chartered organization that assists federal, state and local governments in improving effectiveness, efficiency and accountability. They are Jim Perry, associate dean of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs’ Indianapolis programs; John Kirlin, director of the IU Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, and Phil Rutledge, professor emeritus of public and environmental affairs.

• IUB’s Groups Program was launched in 1968 with 43 students and now enrolls nearly 200 per year. More than 7,000 students have participated in the program, the oldest of the federally funded TRIO Programs located at public and private colleges and universities and technical schools throughout the state.
