SLIS ranks first in ‘Library Quarterly’

IU’s School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) earned top ranking in a survey published in the April issue of Library Quarterly. SLIS was ranked first in the nation in scholarly productivity and impact.
The quantitative analysis was conducted of all North American library and information science programs over a six-year period. SLIS tied for first place with the University of Illinois for programs with the highest number of published journal articles, an
d Blaise Cronin, dean of SLIS, Rob Kling, professor of information systems and information science, and former professor emeritus Stephen Harter were ranked among the top 20 individuals with the most citations to journal articles.
