Indianapolis tops the list of cities where new non-profit organizations can expect to flourish, according to the Nonprofit Management Institute at Arizona State University.
One of the factors that puts Indianapolis at the top was the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy (COP), according to Scott Sheldon, the institute’s director. Other cities were Austin, Texas; Chicago; Los Angeles; Minneapolis; New York; Orlando, Fla.
; Phoenix; Seattle and Washington, D.C. Results of the survey appeared in the April issue of NonProfit Times.
In August, Gene Tempel, COP’s executive director, once again was named to the annual NonProfit Times Power and Influence Top 50. The national list also included six who serve on COP’s board of governors or advisory committees.
Application forms and guidelines for grants available to IU faculty are at the COP Web site below. Application deadline for the Archives Research Fellow Fund grants is Nov. 15.
