The season's opening free concert by the IU Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by David Effron, is Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m. in the Musical Arts Center on the Bloomington campus. The concert will feature world-renowned violinist and new faculty member Jaime Laredo. The orchestra and soloist will repeat their performance on the IU South Bend campus Sunday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. in Northside Hall as a pilot program of IU's Moveable Feast of the Arts. The Moveable Feast is designed to showcase performances by faculty and students in the School of Music and other IU units throughout Indiana during the upcoming year, and will include appearances by the Singing Hoosiers and School of Music jazz ensembles.
