The bioethics of genetics is the topic of the IU School of Medicine’s Mini Medical School, meeting Tuesday evenings Oct. 8-Nov. 12 on the IUPUI campus. The series offers several topics tackling the moral implications of genetic research and therapy. Each session features two speakers. For registration information, call 317-278-7600. “Animals, Plants and Amazing Gravity” will feature IU biologists George Malacinski and Robert Togasaki, who will demonstrate experiments that illustrate the powerful effect of gravity on living things, Saturday, Sept. 28, at WonderLab Museum, on the north side of the courthouse square in downtown Bloomington. Look inside an axilotl egg to see how gravity affects its nucleus, and find out if plant roots always grow down. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
