Sept. 24 “Hoosier view”

Answer: The Sept. 24 “Hoosier view” is a detail from a life-sized bas-relief. The memorial artwork is in the lobby of the Medical Library and Research Building at the IU School of Medicine on the IUPUI campus. It honors Indiana Medical College founder, Dr. John Stough Bobbs. Bobbs performed the world’s first gall bladder surgery in 1867. The memorial was crafted by artist Gutzon Borglum in 1916. Borglum later created Mount Rushmore.

One guess: Mary Hardin from the IUPUI campus was the only person to submit an E-mail identifying the mystery photo.
