• Who knew? Join costumed faculty and students of the IUB Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology, 504 N. Fess Ave., Wednesday (Oct. 30) at 7 p.m. for a campus ghost walk. Visit the “very haunted” Indiana Memorial Union; hear legends of the McNutt Hatchet Man, the Frat Doctor and the Woman in Black. If you dare to join in, call 812-855-1027 for reservations. Only so many heads may roll.

• If Victor Frankenstein were to make his monster today, how would he go about it? Mark your calendar (if you dare) to hear an electrifying lecture by David Stocum, dean of the School of Science at IUPUI, Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. in the Ruth Lilly Auditorium of the IUPUI University Library. Interestingly, inventor Thomas Edison produced the first Frankenstein film adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel. Discover more monster trivia at the IUPUI University Library’s Frankenstein exhibit, through Dec. 16.
