| Elizabeth Eckert, a piano student at the IU School of Music in Bloomington, has received an ALEX award for performing arts. The award, presented by the National Alliance for Excellence, brings Eckert a $1,000 scholarship, an appearance at Carnegie Hall and the opportunity to meet with any individual in America who has inspired her.
