| Elise LeBlanc from Carmel, that’s who. She’s the winner of the second annual “Cool Room” contest sponsored by IUB’s Residential Programs and Services (RPS).
LeBlanc is a spatial genius. It’s true. She somehow managed to
create three distinct living areas in her room—an office for school
work, a kitchen/dining room for the obvious and a living room/bedroom
for lounging. Never has a space so compact (approximately 10 feet
by 13 feet) been made so comfortable, functional and attractive.
It’s almost like home.
Even more impressive is the fact that LeBlanc’s room was no shoo-in
for first place.
Fifty-two rooms were judged by administrators from RPS and students
living in the residence halls. Each dwelling was a testament to
creativity and the human desire for a comfortable space of one’s
own.
Actually, every room was a winner. All entrants received tickets
to Les Miserables at the IU Auditorium, a pizza party or
a “photofrost” cake from Ambrosia Catering and Bakery, a unit of
RPS Dining Services.
