Alex-Assensoh

Yvette Alex-Assensoh, assistant professor of political science at IU Bloomington, has received a 2000 Excellence in Authorship Award from the Association of Third World Studies for her book Neighborhoods, Family and Political Behavior, and for her co-editorial role on Black and Multiracial Politics in America, published in October by the New York University Press and co-edited by Lawrence J. Hanks, associate professor of political science at IUB.

Alex-Assensoh will be spending the spring semester teaching at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, as a Fulbright Scholar. She will be completing research in the country for a book manuscript in which she intends to compare Croatian ethnic politics and American racial politics.
