Kinsey anniversary inspires fresh look
at women’s sexualities
Alfred Kinsey and his colleagues published Sexual Behavior in the Human Female 50 years ago this coming September. Commemorative events focusing on research, scholarship, academic freedom and the arts, plus a visit from Gloria Steinem next week, are planned.
Black Man’s Think Tank
IU South Bend will be the location next

Tank, featuring sociologist David Pilgrim and poet Haki Madhubuti.
Walker guiding assessment of doctoral education
The School of Education and the Department of English at IU Bloomington are among 32 programs nationwide selected to undergo an assessment through the Carnegie Initiative on the Doctorate, a research project being directed by IU’s George Walker.

Gov. Frank O'Bannon visited the Northwest
Center for Medical Education at IU Northwest in Gary Jan. 29 to
get a first-hand look at research projects and teaching innovations
promoting the life sciences. The facility is one of eight regional
medical centers in the statewide system of the IU
