• War correspondent Chris Hedges, author of War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, will speak Tuesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at the IU South Bend Student Activities Center. Hedges’ work has been the focus of the One Book, One Campus project in South Bend.

• The IU School of Medicine’s Evening of the Arts is Saturday, April 2, at 7 p.m. at the IUPUI University Place Conference Center. Students, faculty and staff will showcase their non-medical talents, with proceeds going to support services for the homeless.

• March 11 is Family Night (6:30-9 p.m.) at the Student Recreational Sports Complex on the Bloomington campus, with special activities for the family not leaving campus for spring break. Parking and admission are free each second Friday of the month (except July).

• Registration has begun for IUPUI Sport Complex Summer Camps. Faculty and staff discounts are available for volleyball, track, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, diving or synchronized swimming camps during June and July. • The Hilltop Youth Garden Program in Bloomington, for children ages 5-14, is taking enrollments for its summer program, and adults may rent garden plots. The program is celebrating its 57th year.

• The 16th annual IPFW Health Fair is scheduled Wednesday, March 23, from 9-3 p.m. at the Walb Student Union on the Fort Wayne campus. More than 40 free health screenings, including those related to alcohol abuse, anxiety disorder, blood pressure, body fat analysis, eating disorders and hearing acuity. Forty meal and snack ideas will be prepared by IPFW alumni during the day, and 40 “A to Z” healthy hints and hand-outs will be available.
