U.N. Intellectual History Project’s first book garners ‘CHOICE’ award for IU Press

Ahead of the Curve? U.N. Ideas and Global Challenges (IU Press, 2001) has been selected as one of the prestigious CHOICE magazine’s 39th annual Outstanding Academic Titles.

The project traces the origin and analyzes the evolution of key ideas and concepts about international economic and social development born or nurtured under United Nations auspices.

The motivations behind the ideas as well as their relevance, influence and impact are assessed against the backdrop of the socioeconomic situations of individual countries, the global economy and major international developments.

Fourteen books in all are scheduled for publication in the series from the United Nations Intellectual History Project, which will identify and trace the economic and social ideas that have been launched or nurtured by the U.N. since 1942.
