| From the looks of its line-up, the week of Oct. 27 is shaping up to be a hectic time for the staff at IU Auditorium. Could it be the busiest week of the semester for big-time performances? Indeed.
The Full Monty (Oct. 27-28): Based on a 1997 British movie, this Broadway musical comedy reveals the lives of six unemployed steelworkers. Strapped by financial woes, the group decides to change their luck by forming an “adult” male dance troupe. “The Full Monty” has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Tickets: $17-$57.
The Four Tops (Oct. 30): In 1990, The Four Tops landed a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The group’s place in musical history started in the 1950s, but their vocal power continues today. Their hit songs include: “Baby, I Need Your Lovin’,” “Standing in the Shadows of Love,” and “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch).” Tickets: $13-$37
Lang Lang (Nov. 3): Earlier this year, 22-year-old classical pianist Lang Lang confessed to a NPR reporter that if his music career falters he might consider taking a shot at stand-up comedy. Thankfully, for music lovers, he’s holding his own in the classical music world. Tickets: $10-$35.
