IU’s new advertising campaign is all about ‘getting real’
A 30-second TV commercial is the centerpiece of IU’s new advertising campaign, in which real students ask real questions--the questions they hope to answer during the knowledge quest called college. Sandra Conn, IU assistant vice president for public affairs and government relations, was the creative director for the campaign. Read about the ad’s development and view the video on line.

A (cool) room of one’s own
The dimensions of a college dormitory room are only as constricted as its residents’ imaginations. Meet the spatial geniuses who have transformed their living spaces into cool rooms that would rival any The Real World set design. Home Pages offers a special on-line peek--through pictures and audio-streamed interviews--into 11 of the winning entries in IUB’s Residential Programs and Services’ second annual Cool Room contest.

Carnegie headliners
George E. Walker, IU vice president for research and dean of the University Graduate School, will be leading a study of the highest university degree, the Ph.D. under the auspices of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. He begins a five-year appointment as a Carnegie Foundation senior scholar next month but will retain his duties at IU. Craig Nelson, an IUB professor of biology and of public and environmental affairs, has been named one of four U.S. Professors of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation. Read about their achievements.
