Judging of the Whitewater Valley Annual Art Competition kicks off in the morning (Oct. 28) at the IU East campus. Pamela Franks, curator of the Yale University Art Gallery, is this year’s juror.

Judging begins at 9:30 a.m. at Whitewater Hall, with announcements and presentations at 3 p.m. at Vivian Auditorium.

Every year 300 to 400 pieces of art are submitted for competition from high schools, universities, art organizations and independent artists. Categories include drawings, paintings, mixed media, photography, printmaking, computer graphics and relief sculpture.

Entries will be on display in Whitewater Art Gallery from Nov. 6 to Jan. 26.
