- Orientation
-
New Student Orientation isn’t just for students. When a new freshman or transfer student attends the required orientation program, you are welcome to attend with your student.. Though optional, the Parent Orientation is a comprehensive program that coincides with your student’s orientation program. By attending the New Student Orientation (freshman) program or the Transfer Transition (for transfer students) program, you will learn about some of the many support services and resources that await students at IU. You’ll hear from IU faculty, staff and students, sit in some of the same classrooms as your student will, have the chance to meet other parents, and leave campus feeling with great information and connections for both you AND your IU student.
On the Office of Orientation Programs’ website, you will find information specific to the orientation experience. By following the “Parent” links, you can access suggested reading for parents of college students, information about Bloomington, and much more.
- Scholarships
-
Indiana University recognizes and awards outstanding academic achievement. For the entering freshman class in the fall of 2008, students will earn more than $15 million dollars in merit scholarships from IU. There are a variety of scholarships that students can be considered for, and apply for, when they are admitted to IU. The Office of Scholarships website provides an overview of these opportunities, links for more detailed information on each scholarship program, as well as profiles of current scholars on the Bloomington campus.
